Ty Mawr is a beautifully renovated, detached 17th century farmhouse on the edge of the village of Llanuwchllyn and close to Bala in North Wales. This luxurious cottage can sleep eight people in four bedrooms, one single, one twin, one double and a family room with a kingsize double bed and a single day bed. The family room has its own ensuite shower room and there is also a large family bathroom with a double ended bath. The fully fitted kitchen leads into a dining room with a Rayburn stove and there are two comfortable sitting rooms, one with an open fire and the other with a woodburning stove. Outside the cottage is off road parking for five cars and an enclosed lawned garden with spacious patio, furniture, a BBQ and lovely countryside views of Mount Arennig. A perfect outdoor break, the Bodnant Estate is privately owned and this holiday farmhouse lies off a single track lane from where there are glorious walks along private paths through woods and across farmland on the Bodnant Estate. Bodnant Garden is open 361 days a year.
There are many attractions and places to visit in this part of Wales. Within a 20-minute drive is the elegant Victorian seaside resort of Llandudno. Also the sandy beaches of Conwy, Penmaenmawr and Colwyn Bay are within about a 15-minute drive. Snowdonia National Park is on the doorstep, including the Swallow Falls near Betws-y-Coed and Snowdon. The summit of Snowdon can be reached via the mountain train from Llanberis. A number of Welsh castles including Conwy, Caernarfon, Beaumaris, Harlech, Dolwydellan, Denbigh and Rhuddlan are within easy striking distance.
