Mews Cottage is a bungalow with character which has a truly peaceful location with lovely view. It is part of a recent development of converted farm buildings, built from Lakeland stone and with traditional Lakeland stone floors in the living areas. It has been attractively furnished and fitted to a high standard, with every modern convenience. A unique feature of this cottage is the sauna located in the bathroom area, perfect for relaxing after a hard day on the fells. Mews Cottage is situated in the hamlet of Bampton which lies in the Lowther Valley, and is a most tranquil unspoilt area of the Lake District, perfect for getting away from it all and for seeing wildlife. Bampton has a village store/Post Office with tea room, childrens playground and a pub, plus another pub, a gentle one mile stroll away in the neighbouring hamlet of Bampton Grange. Haweswater and Ullswater are both close by. The area is perfect for walking and cycling with its quiet scenic roads and plenty of good walking from the doorstep, including on the surrounding fells leading over to Ullswater. There are lots of nearby attractions and activities including cycle hire, horse riding, Dalemain House and gardens, Aira Force, Ullswater Steamers and other water sports. The nearest town to Bampton is Penrith, Approximately 7 miles and the M6 is just a 10 minute drive for easy access. Keswick is only 30 minutes drive and the southern lakes can readily be accessed via Kirkstone Pass, a great base to enjoy a holiday in the Lake District.
