Accommodation overview: Attractive cottage in quiet position with river frontage. The Village of Chedgrave lies in the Chet Valley in the south of Norfolk in the Broad National Park and provides a good base to visit the East Norfolk and Suffolk Heritage Coasts, Southern Broadland and the Waveney Valley with the market Towns of Bungay and Beccles. The fine Cathedral city of Norwich is within easy reach just 10 miles away. The adjoining village of Loddon has a good selection of shops and Pubic Houses with day boat hire available from the nearby staithe. Alternatively you may enjoy the pleasant River Chet Walk to Hardley Cross , which is part of the longer Wherrymans Way Norwich to Great Yarmouth footpath or the National Cycle route 1 both of which run past the property. This area is excellent for wildlife with a number of RSPB and other nature reserves nearby well worth a visit. Fishing in season is available from the nearby river 100yds away. In a great location for exploring the numerous attractions within the area and not too far from the North Norfolk coast. Bawdeswell is an historic village, mentioned by Chaucer in the 14th century. It is situated in the heart of the county, central to the many attractions of Norfolk. The fine city of Norwich is fourteen miles away. The market town of Fakenham and Pensthorpe Nature Reserve, home to Spring Watch, is just ten miles away. The beautiful North Norfolk coastline at Wells and Blakeney and the famous Broads are also within easy reach, as are a number of National Trust properties including Blickling Hall. The nature reserves at Sparham Pools and Foxley Wood are both less than four miles away and the area is ideal for walkers and cyclists with Marriott's Way nearby. Accommodation overview: Quietly situated cottage a few minutes walk from the beach. Much of the Seaside resort of Felixstowe is only about 100 years old. This busy town standing at the mouth of the rivers Deben and Orwell, benefits from a four mile stretch of a sand and shingle beach a two mile paved promenade dotted with colourful beach huts and beautifully kept seafront gardens. Other than enjoying the sea views from any well placed seats along the prom, visitors can enjoy activities such as coastal walks, sailing, fishing, golf or bird watching to name but a few. There are Martello Towers along this stretch of coastline, built to resist a potential invasion by Napoleon. The main town of Felixstowe offers the visitor a good selections of shops, restaurants, seafront bars, seaside attractions, cinema, leisure centre with swimming pool, Tourist Information, Spa Theatre and a viewing point where many of the world's largest container ships arrive at the busy Port of Felixstowe.
