Reydon is only divided from Southwold by Buss Creek, a narrow stretch of water where the fishing boats (busses) of long ago used to tie up. Friston is a small tranquil village situated in a quiet area of Suffolk, within easy reach of many interesting locations, to make your holiday enjoyable. The old town of Aldeburgh with its beach and fishing boats, cinema, museum summer theatre, shops and restaurants, and Leiston with its leisure centre/pool, cinema and museum are about 4 miles away. As is Snape Maltings, which has shopping/galleries, and the concert hall. Thorpeness has its own laid back style and boating mere, is approximately 5 miles . Countryside with good, interesting walks is all around, of note are Dunwich heath, Minsmere bird reserve, and Rendlesham forest , Southwold, Walberswick, Orford and Woodbridge all are within 25 miles drive. 1 Chequers Row is on the end of a terrace of four houses which was built about 20 years ago, but is designed to look like a terrace of period cottages. It has an east/south facing garden with a walnut tree that gives dappled shade. It is a peaceful retreat with no parking worries and is within easy reach of interesting days out.
