The spacious and well-equipped accommodation offers a relaxing atmosphere with plenty of country walks beside the river and through the fields. There is also alot of wildlife to see including kingfishers sandmartins buzzards and herons maybe an otter or skylark. You can also watch the wildlife on and around the river from the large hide overlooking the River Ottery on the Devon and Cornwall boundary. There are webcams set up to capture the wildlife around the farm which can be viewed on the TV in your cottage you may be lucky enough to watch swallows eggs hatching in the nest or bats leaving an old barn. A wonderful centre for visiting Cornwall and Devon. Many all year round attractions are within easy travelling distance including The Eden Project (purchase discounted fast track tickets available from farmhouse) Plymouth Aquarium Morwellham Quay and King Arthur s Castle at Tintagel. Leisure facilities: visitors can try their hand at clay pigeon shooting or fishing (both fly and coarse) on the beautiful River Ottery or on the smaller Boles Bridge stream which meander though the farm. Close at hand is the safely enclosed heated outdoor swimming pool (May - September). Visitors can experience Classic British Motorcycles when guided by John through the delightful North Cornwall scenery. Bikes include BSA Norton Triumph Panther and Ariel (bring own insurance licence and protective clothing please). Farm activities: meet the farm animals on this organic farm. Play facilities: giant sandpit games room (with pool tables football table and books and games) and orchard playing field. Amenities: ample off-road parking. Accommodation overview: Only 10 minutes from beautiful Coniston Water sits Langholme Mill Cottage near Lowick, a 17th Century former corn mill. Both Coniston, Ulverston and Broughton are within easy reach enabling visitors to explore the fields and fells that are visible from the door of Langholme Mill, enticing visitors to explore the great outdoors. Langholme Mill Cottage is rather special as it has almost an acre of beautiful woodland gardens. Designed around the mill race, the gardens feature interesting displays, ornamental bridges and features slate paths, as well as well established rhododendrons, hostas and aces providing a mass of vibrant colour. Ullswater, the Northern Lakes and the Eden Valley are all easily accessible and the village benefits from a pub serving bar meals. These 2 characterful barn conversations (Lilac Studio property number 118169) have an interconnecting door and may be let separately or together for up to 6 people and situated in the village of Newton Reigny the Lilacs was originally a farm and the 2 cottages were the Byre and adjoining barn. More recently it was the home to Simon Bull, a well known Cumbrian artist and Lilac Studio was where he did his painting.
