Accommodation overview: High on a hill in 500 acres of farmland grounds, this spacious holiday cottage occupies a truly unique position, with superb panoramic views and its own garden and patio. Rebuilt with the mellow stone of the 300-year-old barn which once stood here, it has been furnished and equipped to a very high standard throughout. Visitors are welcome to walk along the many footpaths within the grounds.
Hollywall’s private and peaceful rural setting is equidistant from Ludlow and Worcester (15 miles), both steeped in history and crammed with ancient buildings. Ludlow is a delightful town, with beautifully preserved medieval buildings, fine 18th-century architecture, and a splendid Norman castle set high on a hill. There is an excellent choice of shops, including many antique shops, and eating places. Worcester is best known for its beautiful cathedral, and its Royal Worcester porcelain factory, open to the public. Closer to home, the old market town of Tenbury Wells (4½ miles) offers shops, inns and restaurants, as well as tennis and swimming. To the west, the Burford House Gardens display many unusual shrubs and roses, as well as the National Clematis Collection.
The Welsh borders, the Malvern Hills and the Wyre Forest are within easy reach, and Cheltenham, Warwick and Stratford-upon-Avon are only an hour’s drive. Cheltenham offers entertainments of international repute, including theatre, music, dance and comedy, as well as a superb racecourse, while historic Warwick boasts England’s finest medieval castle. Stratford is alive with culture and history, boasting five houses associated with Shakespeare, as well as the Royal Shakespeare Theatre.
