One of the first gentlemens residences to be built in Windermere, Oakland Hall is now a stunning and unique home offering an eclectic fusion of traditional Lakeland and boutique cottage, topped off by panoramic views over Windermere to the Langdale Pikes beyond. The house revolves around two large rooms: The Grand Hall, now an elegant dining room, two storeys high lit by huge stone mullioned stained glass windows and dominated by an arts and crafts fireplace with a large wood-burning stove at its heart. And the living room, with window seats to gaze through majestic stone-mullioned windows across the garden to Stickle and Harrison Pike beyond. The kitchen is a gastronomes delight, flint grey, glossy units wrapped in cool, matt granite, the central island the ideal spot to chillax and all take part in some culinary magic.
