Idyllically set on the banks of Carsington Water these two beautiful barn conversions are part of a small group enjoying a peaceful setting and fabulous views over the sparkling lake. There is no through traffic and the cottages offer direct access to the circular 8 miles of lake path. Both cottages boast a patio overlooking the lake and for children there is a wood and small play area with toddler swings and slide.
Carsington Water boasts an RYA recognised water sports centre offering dinghy windsurfer and canoe hire and tuition and junior activity sessions for ages 8–16 in the summer holidays (advanced booking advisable). Bank fishing for brown trout can be enjoyed just 50 yards from the cottages and rowing boats may be hired from the fishery centre. Across the lake the visitor centre provides a restaurant shops cycle hire and an adventure playground. Matlock Bath's Heights of Abraham cable cars and Gulliver's Kingdom Crich Tramway Museum Haddon Hall Chatsworth House and the market town of Ashbourne are all within about 10 miles. Alton Towers is just 15 miles. Within ¾ mile is a popular pub serving 'real ale' and a number of excellent dining pubs can be found within 5 miles. Shop ¾ mile.

"The location of this property is lovely and the walks round the lake were stunning in the snow but the roads were a bit tricky in the bad weather. The house is well furnished and equipped and the fresh homemade scones waiting on arrival were a lovely touch. The cottage is also very good if you have a dog."

"Overall we had a terrific week-end the house easily accommodated our party of sixteen at all times. The dining tables were big enough both inside and out and plenty of seating. The main living room was very hospitable big settees meant lots of family time in there around a roaring fire. The surrounding area offered lots of activities and the general location was very tranquil-a real respite from busy working lives."
