The cottage is in a secluded location yet only 500 yards from the centre of Blairgowrie, a pretty little market town sitting round the River Ericht with excellent shops, cafes and pubs. At the geographical centre of Scotland, this is a historic crossroads with routes leading north into Glenshee and the Cairngorm National Park, east to the glens and sandy beaches of Angus, south to the cities of Perth and Edinburgh and west to the famous Perthshire lochs, making it the perfect touring base. The championship Rosemount golf course is a mile from the properties and there are another 40 courses within a half-hour drive. Other activities include hill walking, angling, winter sports, field sports and ornithology.

Accommodation overview: This typical Scottish farmhouse sits in a spectacular location at the head of a beautiful glen, deep in the mountains of the Trossachs on the renowned 'Braes of Balquihidder'. Freshly decorated and comfortably furnished in a simple, unpretentious style, this would be the perfect base for an outdoor activity holiday. With double glazing and an open log fire it is ideal for a relaxing break away from it all, at any time of the year. The owners working sheep farm is nearby and there is a lovely atmosphere of tranquility and remoteness. Local hero Rob Roy McGregor lived most of his life in the original house on this site in the early 18th Century. His grave can be visited in the local churchyard.
With 7 Munros within easy reach, this is good country for walking, climbing or mountain biking, there is sailing and water sports 10 miles away at Loch Earn and river/loch fishing are available locally.
