Accommodation overview: Creag Mhor Cottage is a lovely detached property located in the heart of the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park, on the outskirts of the popular village of Aberfoyle. The cottage is newly re-furbished and immaculately presented throughout. The floors are wooden laminate, with tiles in the kitchen and bathroom. The lounge has two leather sofas, an open coal fire and large picture windows making the room bright and airy. The kitchen is fully fitted and well equipped with a breakfast bar area. Accommodation overview: Commanding spectacular sea views from a wonderful elevated position, this charming, cosy cottage has views to the Kirkcudbright coast, Cumbrian Fells and the Isle of Man. This is the perfect location for a special 'get away from it all' break - the cottage is reached by 3/4 mile of farm track. The cottage is comfortably furnished with a sunny conservatory where you can relax and watch the sunsets. The front and rear gardens are quite delightful, with garden furniture and a barbecue provided.
Shoreline walks can be enjoyed from the cottage and the 190 mile Solway Heritage Trail winds through the beautiful scenery of the Solway Coast from Gretna to the Mull of Galloway. This unspoilt area boasts lovely beaches and a wide range of recreational amenities including cycling, golf, birdwatching, fishing, sailing and places of interest including St Ninian's Cave and The Whithorn Story (where Scottish Christianity began). There are 2 good pub/ restaurants in Isle of Whithorn and seafood is available at the harbour.

At one time the house belonged to John Charles Cuninghame, 17th Laird of Craigends in Renfrewshire and in 1919 the estate came up for sale and the following is an extract from the London Times, December 6, 1919 ... the sporting, residential and agricultural estate of Dunragit, in the county of Wigtown, extending to an area of about 7438 acres, and including DUNRAGIT HOUSE and policies, Factors house, estate cottages, 20 valuable farms, capital grouse and salmon and sea trout fishing in the river Luce for a distance of 41 miles. DUNRAGIT HOUSE, situated in well timbered policies, over-drawing room. library, billiard room, 12 principal bed and dressing rooms, 11 servants bed rooms, four bathrooms, with attics and ample domestic offices.
