Accommodation overview: A lovely Victorian tenement flat situated in the heart of this popular seaside resort, just a minutes walk from the lovely sandy beach and promenade and close to the excellent amenities of the town centre. Portobello has lots to offer for a family holiday - the long, wide promenade has a selection of arcades and amusements, a leisure complex, children's playground, tennis courts and an indoor swimming pool with spa and sauna. The popular town centre has shops, supermarkets, pubs and restaurants with an excellent bus service into the city centre (3 miles). There is also easy access to the city by-pass and East Lothian coastline for recreational amenities including golf and fishing.

Accommodation overview: This charming 2-storey cottage is tucked away in a sunny, south-facing, sheltered courtyard. An interesting conversion, the cottage has a traditional stone-built exterior whilst the interior is modern and contemporary. Haddington lies on the banks of the River Tyne and fishing for brown trout, sea trout and salmon is available - daily and weekly permits available from Main Saddlers in the High Street. Haddington is also on National Cycle Route 76 "Coast and Castles". The town boasts excellent local amenities, a sports centre, varied restaurants, interesting shops. a supermarket, children's park with excellent play area and riverside walks. The John Muir Way links this area to both Edinburgh and the Borders with magnificent walking on marked coastal pathways. The coastline abounds with glorious unspoilt beaches and both sea fishing and seal spotting boat trips depart from the harbour at Dunbar. Home to Concorde and many other aircraft the Museum of Flight (9 miles) is well worth exploring and at the Seabird Centre at North Berwick visitors can watch the puffins nesting on Bass Rock or gannets diving into the sea. Musselburgh Racecourse (24 miles) offers a great day out and horse riding tennis cycle hire and an indoor swimming pool are all found in and around Dunbar (1 mile) which also offers a selection of shops pubs and restaurants as well as a station for the 20 minute train journey to the centre of beautiful Edinburgh city.
