Children and adults alike are sure to marvel at the steam trains passing by on the restored Wensleydale Railway - the original platform for which is set beside the cottage (around 6 trains a day pass by in peak season). The garden and patios are an ideal suntrap to enjoy in the summer. The cottage is situated towards the gateway to Wensleydale approximately one mile from the small village of Spennithorne which has a shop and pub, and just over two miles from the bustling market town of Leyburn with a variety of shops, tea rooms and restaurants to discover. The area is perfect for walkers or those who enjoy history, with Middleham Castle, Jervaulx Abbey and Bolton Castle a short drive away. Accommodation overview: Set at the head of Swaledale in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, Arngill Cottage was originally built as Mukers Wesleyan Chapel in 1845, converted into cottages in the 1940s and lovingly renovated over the last years, now offering a charming and well equipped character cottage. It has a stone flagged entrance hall, feature staircase curving to a balustrated landing on the first floor, solid oak floor boards, lime-washed walls, a large open plan living area with beamed ceiling, window seats, stone and lime rendered fireplace with wood-burning stove.
