The well-equipped fitted kitchen has exposed beams, giving it a ‘country farmhouse’ feel and the dining area is also located in this space. The spacious sitting room is comfortable and welcoming with a stone feature fireplace housing an electric flame effect fire, giving instant warmth and a cosy feel to the room. The four bedrooms are light and appealing with sloping ceilings, making them snug and inviting and a real haven of peace. There are two bathrooms serving the property, one of which is a shower room on the ground floor. There is a lovely lawned area with furniture and fishing rights for the River Esk are available from the owner, as long as visitors have a fishing licence.

The cottages are perfectly positioned for exploring the area with the bustling market town of Pickering, home of the North Yorkshire Moors Steam Railway, some 4 miles to the west and the lively coastal resort of Scarborough 14 miles to the east. Thornton-le-Dale, Dalby Forest and the North York Moors National Park are all within 2 miles, whilst the historic City of York is within a half hour drive. All cottages are furnished to a high standard and most have a private hot tub with others having a shared facility, perfect for using in all weathers. Ample off road parking is available to all guests and the surrounding acres of grassland are available for children to play, or families to picnic and barbeque. In addition to the usual farm animals. Sands Farm is often visited by natural wildlife which includes foxes, badgers, deer and barn owls.

Stable Cottage is hidden secretly behind other village properties giving it a wonderful feeling of peace and tranquillity. The gardens are of grand proportions and extend to about one acre. They are carefully tended and beautifully presented by the owners who welcome guests to explore and enjoy this gardeners paradise. The quaint market town of Thirsk lies just 1.5 miles away and can be accessed via a public bridleway directly from the cottage garden, ideal for those who fancy a short stroll. Quality dining out is also on your doorstep, the village pub/restaurant is just 100 yards away, and is renowned for its quality food at reasonable prices. This pub has a real homely atmosphere and attracts many locals who just enjoy a quiet drink and a chat. Stable Cottage is ideally situated for the famous cathedral cities of York and Ripon, the North Yorkshire Moors and the Yorkshire Dales, which all have much to offer, so come rain or shine, there will always be a sunny welcome awaiting you at one of Yorkshires many attractions. Children are made very welcome at this property, though they are politely asked to respect the gardens. Unfortunately, these gardens are not suitable for ball games, although there are parks close by for the children to enjoy. Stable Cottage is located next door to a very small village primary school so the volume of traffic on the main street will increase slightly at approximately 9.00am and 3.30pm during term times, though this is unlikely to be apparent to those visiting Stable Cottage.
