Parking can be found roadside or in a choice of car parks nearby. This delightful and surprisingly spacious cottage is just yards from the estuary seafront in the charming village of Appledore, tucked away in a quaint narrow street where some of the colourful neighbouring homes may date back as far as the 17th century. The delightful quayside offers a small but excellent range of pubs, shops and galleries and offers a host of activities from fishing trips and crabbing contests to Morris Dancing and book fairs. Step from the porch into an attractive hallway and through to a light filled dual aspect sitting / dining room, with a lovely period fireplace to enjoy an open fire on cooler evenings. The stylish modern fitted kitchen is well equipped for all your needs and leads out onto the sunny south facing rear garden where stone steps lead up to a fabulous decked area perfect for al fresco meals or just relaxing in the warm summer evenings. Back inside the wide staircase and spacious galleried landing gives access to the stylish bedrooms and family bathroom. For surfers the popular beach at Westward Ho! is just five minutes away and the cottage provides an outdoor utility room ideal for storage of wet suits and surfboards. There is so much to see and do in this fabulous area, with easy access to stunning beaches, pretty villages and beautiful Exmoor National Park, not forgetting family attractions such as The Big Sheep and The Milky Way. Accommodation overview: A beautiful cottage with breath-taking sea views, just perfect for couples. Perched on the cliff top edge of one of the prettiest villages in North Devon, Williams Cottage enjoys breath-taking sea views stretching from Baggy to Hartland Point with Lundy Island on the horizon. Perfect for couples looking for a tranquil retreat, this delightful character cottage is surprisingly spacious and stylishly presented throughout. The sitting room has a cosy wood burning stove and the alcoved window seat is a perfect spot to relax and gaze out at the amazing sea views. From the separate dining room, also with lovely sea views, a few steps lead down into the kitchen which has a stable door opening onto the garden. A fairly steep staircase, typical in properties of this era, takes you up to the separate bathroom and attractive master bedroom where you will be lulled to sleep by the sound of a nearby waterfall tumbling through a cleft down to the sea. Both rooms have stunning views. There is a stream just across the front lawn separated by a low wall. A short stroll leads down to the pebble beach, where at low tide soft sandy inlets appear between the rock pools. The famous village of Clovelly is well worth a visit, via the coastal path, and you can take a fishing trip from the small cove or simply explore the ancient cobbled streets. Westward Ho! and it’s fabulous stretch of golden sands, popular with surfers is just a ten minute drive away. Boat trips to Lundy Island in Summer offer a rare opportunity to see seals, dolphins, puffins and other diverse wildlife in their natural habitat. There is so much to see and do in this unspoilt part of North Devon, and Williams Cottage is a really special home to return to. The end and mid terrace cottages are situated on the road to Bradworthy and have river and Yeo Valley views. A short drive to various local surfing beaches (20 minutes drive to the 2 miles of golden sandy beach at Westward Ho!) The market town of Bideford has a range of shops pubs restaurants and a pannier market and is home to the Oldenburg which offers boat trips to Lundy Island. Other attractions close by include RHS Rosemoor Gardens Dartington Crystal The Big Sheep The Milky Way and some of the finest National Trust cliff-top walks in the area. The property is also close to the Tarka Trail popular with walkers and cyclists and is located on a favoured cycling route up the Yeo Valley. Relax in the conservatory with reflective glass to keep cool in the summer and warm in the winter or sit on the raised patio in the garden overlooking the valley. There are also a range of village inns close by serving food. Outside: shared use of Iris Hideaway situated in its natural riverside setting 160 yards away with private fishing.
