Conveniently located on the edge of Exmoor National Park yet only 40 minutes from the glorious beaches of Saunton Sands and Woolacombe (ideal for surfers and bathers alike). The estate is home to one of the largest herds of heritage Ruby Red Devon cattle in the country and the owners are passionate about sharing the countryside experience. You can make the most of the countryside and location with a night safari hosted by their own gamekeeper with possible sightings of deer otters barn owls and other wildlife. You can also indulge in the luxury of hiring the onsite chef to cook a meal or two during your stay. Barbeque packs of farm produced meat are usually available offering farm fresh food with low food miles! Or why not buy an arrival ready meal. If you have the chance to venture away from the estate you are only a short drive from South Molton where you can browse around an array of shops supermarket and numerous pubs and restaurants and visit the popular cattle and pannier markets. The towns of Barnstaple (15 miles) and Tiverton (17 miles) have theatres cinemas and many more shops and restaurants. All properties have impressive exposed oak beams and vaulted ceilings. The Coach House is a spectacularly converted detached barn standing in just under half an acre of lawned garden, an ideal location for a family holiday. It is set apart from a stunning range of barns comprising the former model farm of Week. Week lies amidst glorious countryside just outside the Dartmoor National Park with more than 365 square miles of open access moorland, forest and rivers, supplying ample opportunities for walking and riding. The Coach House is situated off a quiet country lane and has beautiful views over open countryside.
Guests have use of a shared hard tennis court and a communal pool with Jacuzzi.
Week lies about a mile from the familiar West Devon landmark of Brentor Church, a picturesque 13th century church perched precariously atop the granite mound of Brent Tor.
At Lydford, four miles to the north-east, there is the remarkable Lydford Gorge with its spectacular waterfall and riverside walk, together with Lydford Castle and prison, a village pub, an italian restaurant and the renowned Dartmoor Inn gastropub.
There are further village shops and pubs in the nearby villages of Mary Tavy and Milton Abbot and also pubs in Peter Tavy and Lamerton. Many of the local pubs feature in "The Good Pub Guide".
The scenic market town of Tavistock (voted best Market Town in 2004) lies five miles to the south and offers a wide selection of unusual gift shops, boutiques and delicatessens in addition to the more usual supermarkets and shops. The town possesses a renowned pannier market and The Wharf is a popular venue for cinema and the arts.
If you would prefer a change from the rugged vista of Dartmoor, then gorgeous sandy beaches, sailing and other watersports are available at a number of venues along the north and south coasts. Both are easily accessible by car, the closest beaches on the north coast being about 45 minutes away.
Watersports, lakeside walks and a cafe with stunning lakeside views can also be found at the popular Roadford Reservoir about 20 minutes drive to the north. There are also opportunities to fish in the reservoir and the local rivers.
The Eden Project is located about an hour's drive away and the very popular restaurants of celebrity chefs Jamie Oliver and Rick Stein are to be found in Newquay and Padstow respectively.
The A30, six miles to the north and the A38, about 18 miles to the south, both facilitate rapid access to Cornwall, Exeter (about 45 minutes away) and the M5 motorway.
Mainline railway stations are located at Plymouth and Exeter and airports at Plymouth, Exeter and Bristol.
Facilities will be available in the future to allow guests to bring their own horses on holiday with them to enjoy the stunning moorland riding available in the area. These facilities will include stables and/or grazing for DIY livery and use of a large riding arena.

Long Meadow Barn is a charming, spacious detached converted barn set in the rural village of Down St. Mary. It is the ideal safe rural retreat set within its own garden and yet within easy access of Crediton or Exeter. The surrounding countryside is ideal for walking, cycling and golf with Waterbridge Golf Course less than a mile away. The Two Moors Way runs through Down St. Mary as do a variety of public footpaths. Fishing is also available locally.
There are numerous local country pubs in the surrounding villages, the nearest being The Devonshire Dumpling 1/2 mile away, a short stroll, which serves excellent food. Copplestone, a mile away, features a general store and post office where provisions can be bought. Crediton is seven miles away where there are Indian restaurants which provide home delivery, Chinese takeaways, a leisure centre with public swimming pool, a large Tesco and a smaller Morrisons.
The village of Zeal Monachorum, a couple of miles away, boasts a pub and a small leisure centre that offers an indoor swimming pool, as well as an extensive renowned indoor and outdoor children's play area suitable for all ages which is perfect for those rainy days, skittles, snooker, all of which will entertain the whole family, as well as good food.
Dartmoor National Park is approximately 10 miles away with breathtaking scenery where you can walk and explore the countryside and heritage sites. There are also National Trust properties to explore within easy driving distance such as Castle Drogo, Rosemoor and Knighthayes which offer beautiful gardens and an interesting house. From Morchard Road station,which is 1/2 mile away, the Tarka Line trains run offering lots of walks from a number of stations en route.
Within a short 40 minute drive, there are gorgeous sandy beaches on both the north and south coasts offering sailing, excellent surfing and other water sports. Alternatively, the historic cathedral city of Exeter, 5 miles away, boasts fantastic shopping and numerous excellent restaurants.
