Accommodation overview: SPACIOUS CONTEMPORARY ECO-HOUSE IN POPULAR VILLAGE LOCATION This architect designed modern house was built in 2011 to a high specification surrounded by houses 100 years older and incorporating environmentally friendly features throughout including solar panels and rain water recycling. An ideal base for families of all ages or a group of friends to enjoy a holiday in this beautiful part of the county. Appledore is a picturesque village steeped in maritime history with colourful narrow streets shops several pubs and restaurants. The annual Appledore Book Festival is always a popular event and attracts many famous authors. The quay side is perfect for sitting with a locally made Hockings ice cream and watching the world go by or catch the seasonal ferry to Instow. Westward Ho! is nearby with its long sandy beach and the Royal Devon Golf Course. The Atlantic Highway provides easy access to North Cornwall and Exmoor so there is plenty of scope for exploration and diverse days out. Attractions in the area include The Big Sheep The Milky Way Skern Lodge Activity Centre RHS Rosemoor Gardens and Clovelly a unique village with a pretty harbour and steep cobbled streets.
