Accommodation overview: Rosehill Cottage is perfectly situated within the small picturesque village of St Breward, and is nestled away with a large garden and views across the valley. The property which is full of character features and dates back to the 18th century but was recently renovated to provide a wonderful home for a family or couples alike. Rosehill Cottage is a tranquil retreat for guests wishing to escape from it all, yet provides easy access to many magnificent beaches on the North Cornish Coast, as well as the popular fishing towns of Padstow and Port Isaac which is famously known for the Doc Martin series.

With parking for 3 cars outside the property, Rosehill Cottage is accessed via a few small steps and leads straight into a traditional dining room with wood burning stove and original tiled flooring. To one side, a doorway leads into a cosy lounge which provides an open fireplace, television and views across the garden. Straight through from the dining room, a well-equipped galley style kitchen is to the left which also provides a stable door with access straight back into the garden. On the other side of the hallway, the sole bathroom with shower over, WC, basin and traditional tiled flooring is based on the ground floor adjacent to the kitchen and sits at the bottom of the wooden staircase that leads up to the first floor landing.

On the first floor there are two double bedrooms both with standard sized double beds, plus two additional spacious single bedrooms which sit either side of the upstairs landing. To the front of the property there is a large stone driveway which can park up to three cars. The generous sized garden with garden furniture provides views across the valley.

The moorland village of St Breward is the highest and largest on Bodmin Moor. The village provides its own Post Office, village store and The Old Inn pub with restaurant (dating back to the 11th century). The Camel Trail is also very popular with cyclists and easily accessible from the property. A 10 mile drive will take you to the popular fishing villages on the north coast such as Trebarwith, Port Isaac and Polzeath and the larger towns of Bodmin, Wadebridge and Camelford are all within a 10 mile radius.

There are good walks from a number of stations en route. Journey time, by car, to either coast is approximately 40 minutes. The opportunities for walkers and cyclists in the vicinity of the Farmhouse are many and varied; the Coast to Coast footpath passes within two miles of the property.

The National Trust properties of Knightshayes, Killerton and Castle Drogo are all within a 30-minute car journey of the Farmhouse. They all have lovely gardens as well as fascinating houses. The Granary incorporates an original stone barn and offers peaceful seclusion in a very rural position at the end of a half mile private road. Guests will enjoy spacious, comfortable and generously sized accommodation with sunny south west facing views across farmland and privately owned woodland.

With a network of footpaths nearby there is plenty of walking and the lack of light pollution means wonderful star gazing at night. It is in an area with lots of native wildlife: badgers, foxes, deer, ravens, sparrow hawks, owls (including barn owls), woodpeckers, nuthatches and lots of garden birds. This is a unique corner of West Gloucestershire, famous for native wild daffodils in spring.

The large enclosed fenced and private garden with cherry trees is safe for dogs. The Granary is adjoining the owners' home.

There is a large privately owned lake nearby (100 yards from The Granary) and guests are welcome to use it (at their own risk) for freshwater swimming and fishing. Well stocked with Tench, Bream, Perch, Rudd and even Bleak, this is an area full of native wildlife such as frogs, newts, toads and dragonflies – with an occasional chance to glimpse a kingfisher.

London is approximately a three hour drive. Local train stations are Ledbury and Gloucester.

Accommodation overview: Nestling in the bottom of the lush Vale of Lanherne, two miles from the dramatic North Coastline, Chapel Cottage is one of two cottages on the site of the original Forge in the charming and picturesque village of St Mawgan.

A couple of steps rise above the road and from here the front door opens into a light and airy open-plan living room, warm and comfortably furnished with full double glazing, an attractive fitted kitchen area in one corner and a pine dining suite set before French Windows opening out to a tiny enclosed patio with a side access gate.

Carpeted stairs lead up to a landing, a bathroom W.C. with hand basin and shower over the bath and two pine furnished bedrooms each with an electric convector heater. The master bedroom has a king-size bed and the second smaller bedroom has two single beds, a 3ft and a 2ft 6in.

There is one reserved parking space per property immediately before the row of cottages and all the local amenities which include a village store, post office, tea room and pub are less than five minutes walk. Sheltering in the village is also the lovely Japanese Garden and Bonsai Nursery which is open all year round and the nearby beaches of Mawgan Porth and Watergate Bay are close at hand.

The historic fishing port of Padstow is 8 miles and the holiday resort of Newquay is 6 miles away.

Accommodation overview: With partial views of the coastline and out to sea, this charming former coastguard cottage is set in a slightly elevated position above the lovely old Cornish fishing village of Port Isaac with the advantage of on-site parking.  One of a small row of double glazed cottages set in a quiet sheltered courtyard; it is just a couple of minutes walk down the hill to the picturesque harbour, famously known as the fictional setting of Doc Martin

The front door opens to a useful entrance lobby with cloaks cupboard and an inner door leads directly into a fully fitted kitchen/diner with a Cornish slate floor and dining table and chairs arranged in one corner.  To one side, an attractive warm and cosy sitting room has natural exposed stonework on one wall, a pine dresser and comfortable lounge seating arranged before the stone fireplace housing the multi fuel burner

In one corner of the sitting room, cottage stairs lead directly up to a small first floor landing, a modern shower room W.C. with heated towel rail and two pleasantly furnished bedrooms each with a wash basin.  There is a double bedroom and a master bedroom with the choice of a 6ft double or 3ft zip linked twin beds; both bedrooms have oblique views over the village, headland and sea. 

From the latter, an unusual first floor French door opens to a stoutly built wooden bridge leading directly out to the enclosed rear garden partly terraced into the hillside with steps up to a sloping lawn and a decked patio with views over the cottage rooftops to the sea and cliffs.  There is parking for one car directly outside the property and all the village amenities are a short walk down the steep hill where there are several good restaurants serving freshly caught fish and it is usually possible to watch the singers the Fishermans Friends perform on the quayside in summer evenings. 

There is also a pub offering food and a supermarket at the top of the village and for a wider choice of amenities the market town of Wadebridge is about 9 miles.  Port Isaac and Port Gaverne have small shingly beaches at low tide and the glorious sandy beaches on the Camel Estuary, including Polzeath, Daymer Bay and Rock are all approximately a 15 minute drive.  The South West Coast Path meanders out of the village in both directions offering spectacular scenery and there are watersports and three golf courses within easy reach.
