A winding carpeted staircase leads up to the first floor where you will find the attractive double bedroom with kingsize bed and dual aspect overlooking the garden to one side and surrounding countryside to the other. A door from the bedroom and landing gives access to the En-suite shower room W.C with hand basin and heated towel rail. 

From the living room a glazed door at the rear leads out to a paved patio and onto the tiered landscaped lawn bordered by a Cornish hedge on both sides, fruit trees and a wild garden at the top. To one side the garden continues to the front paved patio and small lawn enclosed by trellis fencing. There is a gated drive to the side with parking for 1 car.

Hallworthy 2 miles has a country pub and Marshgate 2.5 miles with its P.O store is the nearest village for your day to day needs. Wainhouse Corner 5 miles has a pub, garage and P.O store. The nearest beach is 7 miles away at Crackington Haven with the resort of Bude with its shops, restaurants, tennis courts and watersports is within a 30 minute drive. Trelash is on the Cornish Way cycle network and the south west coast path at Boscastle gives access to some dramatic coastal walks with Bodmin Moor providing many rugged scenic walks nearby. The historic houses & gardens at Pencarrow, Prideaux & Lanhydrock are all within a 40 minute drive. There are plenty of local attractions close by, namely the stunning village of Mells with a local post office selling local produce and a great family pub. The heritage city of Bath is 12 miles south of the property and can be easily reached using the park and ride facility. There is plenty to do in Bath with an array of shopping outlets, boutiques, cafes and restaurants as well as famous sites such as The Roman Baths, Pump Rooms, Thermae Spa and the Royal Crescent.
The popular Longleat Safari Park is approximately six miles from the property and is a great family day out.

The property is located in Thomas Hardy country in the Dorset Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, just outside the pretty village of Hooke and a short drive away from the small town of Beaminster and the beaches and cliffs of Dorset’s Jurassic Coast.

There are excellent walks and cycle rides across the West Dorset countryside directly from the property, with the Iron Age Fort of Eggardon Hill and the nature reserves of Kingcombe and Powerstock Common all nearby, along with many other historic towns and villages. The barn is located on a working sheep farm and guests are welcome to meet and help look after the animals.

A number of good pubs are within a 10 minute drive away such as The Three Horseshoes at Powerstock and the Acorn at Evershot. Also within a 10 minute drive are plenty of local services and conveniences found in either Maiden Newton or Beaminster.
