Accommodation overview: Fell Croft is situated in the village of Pooley Bridge, on the shores of Ullswater, with easy access from the M6 Motorway and just 5 miles from the market town of Penrith. It is an easy walk to the centre of the village with its pubs, restaurants and shops and onwards to the shores of the lake. Ullswater, is the second largest lake at 7.5 miles long, the lake offers a variety of water-based activities from canoeing; sailing and windsurfing to a leisure cruise on one of the famous steamers. Many walks start in the Ullswater Valley from the trek up to Helvellyn to low level strolls along the shoreline. There are many places to visit nearby including Dalemain Historic house and gardens, Rheged, Aira Force and The Alpaca Centre to name just a few! This is also a haven to wildlife, regular visitors to the grounds include red squirrels, a heron, woodpeckers and owls. The accommodation is very comfortable with carefully chosen accessories depicting rural life proudly on show, displayed on the exposed stone wall and dotted around the cottage. A welcome Pack and even a pair of binoculars are provided by the thoughtful owners offering you that much needed cuppa upon arrival and a closer view of your potential visitors. This chocolate box property,originally a farmhouse, built in 17th century and extended in the early 19th century is a beautiful example of a traditional Lakeland residence, her 2 1/2 acres of gardens and fellside including croquet lawn blending effortlessly into the slopes of Loughrigg and displaying a wealth of ancient shrubs and flora, cleverly married with more formal patio, lawn areas and natural water fall.
