Accommodation overview: Taking its name from the rather steep area of woodland near where it sits, Breasty Haw is a wonderful example of a traditional, detached Lakeland cottage. The setting is idyllic as not only does Breasty Haw enjoy fine views across the valley but the house is situated in the middle of its own acre of mature woodland for guests to explore. With Grizedale Forest and ample walks and cycling routes right from the doorstep, Satterthwaite is an ideal base for an activity based holiday with the kids although the area also has some wonderful, gentle walks for those who prefer a quieter pace and some rest and relaxation.

The Brackenrigg Inn is 1 1/2 miles and serves bar meals, or for that special treat the restaurant at the MacDonald Leeming Hotel is only 400 yards. There is much to do and see around Ullswater, from the spectacular Aira Force waterfall, to walks on the high fells or cruises round the lake on the Ullswater steamers.
