Situated in a quiet location next to the River Greta in Keswick, the cottage is a 15 minute level walk from the town centre and has the benefit of walks directly from the doorstep, to Latrigg, Skiddaw and Blencathra. The cottage is very well equipped including a full Sky TV package and all modern appliances. Accommodation overview: A mere 2 miles from Coniston, Torver is a peaceful hamlet with east access to some of the best mountain bike routes, water borne activities and walking in the National Park. Low level walks toward Walna Scar and in to the village itself are ideal for first time visitors and, for the more experienced, Coniston Old Man must not be missed. Accommodation overview: Set in 10 acres of gardens and meadows on the foothills of the Skiddaw range, Garries Cottage is adjoining the owners 17th Century home, in a quiet and tranquil area above Bassenthwaite village. From this elevated position you can see Bassenthwaite Lake with panoramic views of the surrounding fells and over to the West, some spectacular sunsets. Many grades of walking direct from the door, from gentle woodland and meadow walks to the more strenuous heights of Skiddaw. An area of occasional farms nestling into the fells reached by meandering lanes and far from the madding crowds, but within easy reach of Keswick and Cockermouth and the popular northern fells and lakes.
