Skiddaw View is situated in a peaceful, rural area, surrounded by open farmland and with views to the Lake District Mountains. Aldoth is in North West Cumbria, 5 miles from the Victorian seaside town of Silloth and the wonderful Cumbrian coast and within easy reach of The Lakes, Carlisle and Hadrians Wall. There are numerous nature reserves along the coast and excellent walks along the beaches and nearby fells. The nearest pub is 3 miles, at Abbey Town, with many more amenities in Silloth including leisure facilities, restaurants, pubs and shops. Surrounded by moorland and countryside, Stone cottage is a perfect retreat following a day out. There are traditional English Country pubs in close proximity where choices of menu are available.
Stone cottage was lovingly refurbished in 2011 and retains much of its original character.
Accommodation details: Lounge with comfortable seating & dining area, a 32†flat screen TV & DVD player. A well equipped kitchen with electric oven & gas hob, fridge with freezer compartment and microwave oven.
A utility room with washing machine, an ideal place for storing coats, boots and bycicles etc. An open staircase leads to a mezzanine landing that enjoys far reaching views with a sofa bed and small library. Bathroom with white three piece suite with shower over bath, heated towel rail and shaver point.
The bedroom has a king size bed and matching pine furniture & hairdryer. A high chair, travel cot and safety gate are all available. However, please bring along your own cot bedding.
There is an enclosed courtyard with garden furniture and BBQ.
An initial supply of coal, heating, power, bed linen and towels are included.iPod connection and internet access available on request.
No smoking and sorry no pets allowed. Private off road parking for one car 50 yards from the property, parking is also available by the cottage on a first come, first served basis.

Accommodation overview: This traditional cottage dates back to the 18th century, set in the Heart of walkers paradise Rosthwaite with the fells circumscribing the village at the foot of the Borrowdale Valley. The property oozes olde worlde charm with each room having original beams Nokka still retains its slate flagged floor. Nokka was originally a yeomans or statesmans house ( farmhouse) and following that it became an inn. In 1769 the poet Thomas Gray went on a tour of the lakes and Nokka is mentioned in his Journal which was published in1775 after his death in 1771. In more recent times Nokka was drawn by A Wainwright and can be seen in his book The Coast to Coast Walk.
