Accommodation overview: The Barn details
The Barn as its name suggests is a converted detached two storey stone barn sitting within a farm setting. It has been recently refurbished to provide luxury living for those wishing to escape to the countryside for some peace and tranquility.
Situated at the end of a quiet country lane, with private parking, the Barn is a perfect holiday retreat with open countryside on the doorstep and stunning far reaching views to admire.
The farm sits within 35 acres, made up of fields, woodland, lakes and ponds all of which we welcome you to explore. Vobster Quay is adjacent to the farm and for those that wish to experience diving this can be arranged through Mells & Coleford.
There are plenty of local attractions close by, namely the stunning village of Mells with a local post office selling local produce and a great family pub. The heritage city of Bath is 12 miles south of the property and can be easily reached using the park and ride facility. There is plenty to do in Bath with an array of shopping outlets, boutiques, cafes and restaurants as well as famous sites such as The Roman Baths, Pump Rooms, Thermae Spa and the Royal Crescent.
The popular Longleat Safari Park is approximately six miles from the property and is a great family day out.
Frome, 4 miles is the closest town and benefits from a vibrant atmosphere, with plenty of quirky, independent shops and cafes. There is a local market every Wednesday and Saturday along with a great arts and music scene with an art gallery in the main town car park.
The Vobster Inn is within walking distance of the property and has a lovely beer garden during the summer months.Other great family gastro style pubs include The Talbot at Mells, The Grange at Whatley and the Archangel in Frome town centre all of which have lovely outside dining areas.
The closest train station is Frome, which is 15 minutes from the property and benefits from a direct link to London Paddington, through Bath Spa taking approximately 90 minutes,

Accommodation overview: DETACHED STABLE CONVERSION SET ON 200 ACRE WORKING FARM WITH COWS SHEEP AND A LARGE LAKE This stylish and well converted stable provides welcoming first class accommodation in this most beautiful part of Somerset. Ideally placed for exploring and discovering all the county has to offer visitors will be spoilt for choice with much to see and do for all ages and tastes. Pretty towns and villages such as Bruton a small town with alleyways that lead down to the River Brue or Castle Cary with its small shops and museum. The cathedral city of Wells is a short drive as is the Spa town of Bath. Attractions such as Stourhead House and Gardens are a must see the immaculate gardens offer lots of interesting features such as temples lakes trees a folly and shop. Cadbury Castle where King Arthur and his knights are said to be buried and where you can wander 18 acres of iron age encampment the village is worth a look too. Closer to home Wincanton has a museum (open May - September) in the High Street and is filled with local history. For those looking for some excitement take a short drive to Wincanton racecourse and enjoy the spectacle of steeplechasing partake in a little flutter or just enjoy a drink. Guests will look forward to returning to their warm and comfortable retreat.
