Bury St Edmunds, one of the most unspoilt towns in the country with its famous abbey ruins, offers many town amenities, excellent restaurants and cafes, lively open air market on Saturdays and Wednesdays as well as outstanding examples of Georgian architecture. First class horse racing can be found at Newmarket (12 miles), the scene of the first recorded horse race in 1619, and home to the National Horse Racing Museum. The delightful town of Diss is but a short drive away with a popular market every Friday, Water Gardens and Aquarium Centre. North Norfolk coast is within an hour’s drive. Fishing and golf 8 miles.
