Accommodation overview: This 300 year old cottage is full of character, with beamed ceilings, range fire and original stone sconces in the kitchen. The Faulds is situated in the village of Thornthwaite looking out over the valley between Derwentwater and Bassenthwaite to the mighty Skiddaw. Thornthwaite is a quiet village lying at the foot of Whinlatter Forest which has its own Visitors Centre. There is direct access to forest trails for walking and mountain biking and a high wire forest adventure course. Sailing is permitted on Bassenthwaite, 1 mile and kayaks, canoes and sailing boats available at the marinas on Derwentwater, 2 miles. There are pubs and a village shop in Braithwaite, 1 mile and a wealth of amenities in Keswick, 3 miles readily accessed by public transport (bus).

Accommodation overview: Wheelchair accessible, character, single storey barn conversion. Lyng is a rural village situated in the heart of Norfolk. It is part of The Wensum Valley, named after the river, which flows through the picturesque countryside and provides excellent fishing opportunities. Horse riding and a country club with indoor bowls are available in the village, which also has a shop and a pub. The area is great for both cycling and walking, with a network of country lanes, and Sparham Pools Nature Reserve is close by and provides excellent walks and bird watching. The fine city of Norwich is just thirteen miles away and there are many attractions in the area to suit all ages. The Orchard and The Stables (property 865) are character single-storey barn conversions, which are situated in the peaceful hamlet of Primrose Green, surrounded by farmland, one mile from Lyng.
