In the immediate vicinity is an abundance of wildlife stunning scenery and picture postcard villages. The River Tone forms the farms southern boundary so there is the opportunity to fish and an area of ancient woodland for you to explore. Alternatively relax in the garden or wander the cider apple orchards. Farm activities: visitors are encouraged to explore the farm and join in with the farming activities. It may sound like a large furry mountain animal, but Yan Yak is actually Cumbrian dialect for One Oak. It has and interesting history, originally part of the very first Jennings Brewery and dates back to the turn of the 19th Century. in 1875 the brewery relocated to Cockermouth and continues brewing real ale to this day - daily tours of the brewery are available. Buttermere, Loweswater and Crummock are nearby, a peaceful corner of the English Lakes with unspoilt scenery. The house is a mere five minute walk to either Windermere or Bowness for a good selection of shops, bars and restaurants and a visit to The World of Beatrix Potter Exhibition and the famous Lake Windermere Steamers at Bowness are a must during any trip to the Lakes. Brook House is delightfully spacious and has been thoughtfully prepared for holiday letting by its new owners.
