Cazenovia Hall is a holiday home within the secluded grounds of the family owned Grade I listed Blencowe Hall. Sensitively renovated to a high standard, Cazenovia Hall is a 5 Star Gold Award winning light and airy four bedroom traditional stone built barn dating back to 1726. It has views up over the nearby hills and its secluded south facing sandstone terraces are a marvellous place to wind down after a day out exploring in the Lake District.
Blencowe is situated on the edge of the Lake District, about seven miles from Ullswater. Close at hand is the Aira Force National Trust waterfall offering a great combination of a boulder strewn stream for the young at heart to paddle in, a tea shop and a scenic walk up to the peak of Gowbarrow Fell. The property is just over a mile from Greystoke Village which has a lovely village shop, a traditional Lakeland pub, the Boot and Shoe, a heated swimming pool and Greystoke castle with its 3,000 acres of woodland grounds, with the deer park now open for country walks.
In addition to its own private garden, parking and seating areas around the property, also contained within the grounds of Blencowe Hall is a tributary of the River Petteril which has brown trout fishing. Other outdoor pursuits can easily be arranged including salmon fishing, clay pigeon shooting, pony trekking, sailboat hire and cycle tours along the popular C2C cycle route which passes through the village. The fantastic views over the Lakeland Hills and peaceful setting make Cazenovia Hall ideal for walkers or guests seeking a "get away from it all" location from which they can enjoy the Lake District without being overrun by other visitors.
Other popular local attractions include Hutton in the Forest and its extensive grounds which are just a few miles away, Lowther Castle, and one of Alfred Wainwright's favourite walks in the Lake District which winds along just above the shores of Ullswater and forms a fantastic loop journey with a leg back along the famous Ullswater Steamers.
There are two other properties in the grounds of Blencowe Hall, Riverain and Wythburn Cottage, both accommodating six guests.
Blencowe is easily accessible from the Penrith train station (three hours direct from Euston) and a 10 minute taxi ride. It is about four miles from Junction 40 of the M6.

Accommodation overview: As the name suggests, Beach Villa is a delightful detached beach house with white painted floorboards, bright coloured furnishings and wall decorations and a truly perfect location for a beach holiday. The majority of the accommodation is on the ground floor, with access to a neat enclosed garden and a spacious elevated decked patio with bench/tables, a barbecue and boasting simply the most spectacular views over the beach and out to sea. More recently it was the home to Simon Bull, a well known Cumbrian artist and Lilac Studio was where he did his painting. The quality of accommodation in each cottage is to a very high standard, including top quality facilities and character beamed ceiling.
