Accommodation overview: Less than a mile from the picturesque fishing village of Port Isaac, this cosy and comfortable traditional end of terrace cottage is set to one side of the coastal road in the small hamlet of Trewetha, double glazed, yet retaining much of its original charm and character. The quaint village of Port Isaac still has a little working harbour nestling in a narrow sheltered valley where there is a small selection of shops, pubs and restaurants all just a 5 minute drive away.
Approached by a couple of steps and gated footpath that lead down to the front entrance porch with space for coats and boots. An inner glazed door opens directly into a charming dining room with a low beamed ceiling and wood burning stove and to one side a door leads through to a warm and cosy beamed sitting room with lounge seating arranged before the open fireplace.
At the rear, in an extension to the original cottage, a low doorway opens to a bright and cheerful kitchen and from here a door leads out to the generous sized country garden with a sheltered sun terrace and a couple of steps up to the lawn with a sandpit, swing and hedged border.
A narrow carpeted staircase with quite low headroom leads up from the dining room to the first floor landing where there are a bathroom with hand basin and shower over the bath, a separate cloakroom W.C., and two pretty cottage-style bedrooms. The master bedroom has a 5ft double bed overlooking the attractive rear garden and the second smaller bedroom has two pine single beds.
Young children and pets will requires supervision as there are slight changes in level in the cottage and the garden is only partially enclosed. There is off road parking for two cars on the driveway, and space for a boat trailer if required.
The small shingle beach at Port Gaverne is about a 5 minute drive and the glorious sandy beaches at Polzeath, Daymer Bay and Rock on the Camel Estuary are approximately 6 miles away. For a good choice of amenities the market town of Wadebridge is about a 15 minute drive where bicycles can be hired to explore the Camel Trail and the immediate area also offers fine coastal walking. There is a wide range of sports activities locally including fishing, surfing and sailing, three golf courses within easy reach and the Eden Project is about an hour’s drive.

Hallworthy 2 miles has a country pub and Marshgate 2.5 miles with its P.O store is the nearest village for your day to day needs. Wainhouse Corner 5 miles has a pub, garage and P.O store. The nearest beach is 7 miles away at Crackington Haven with the resort of Bude with its shops, restaurants, tennis courts and watersports is within a 30 minute drive. Trelash is on the Cornish Way cycle network and the south west coast path at Boscastle gives access to some dramatic coastal walks with Bodmin Moor providing many rugged scenic walks nearby. The historic houses & gardens at Pencarrow, Prideaux & Lanhydrock are all within a 40 minute drive. Accommodation overview: Perfectly positioned in a quiet setting on the edge of Bodmin Moor, this traditional stone detached barn conversion sits within a peaceful rural valley and is perfectly situated for those who wish to get away from it all. Accessed via a long driveway, the property is set to one side of the owners stone farmhouse and within an area of outstanding natural beauty which offers an ideal rural retreat.
With parking adjacent to the property, a stone footpath leads the front door which opens into a warm and cosy dining room, with a large a wood burning stove that warms the whole house. To one side of the dining room an open archway leads into the well equipped kitchen and to the other side of the dining room an archway leads into a spacious living room with comfortable lounge seating, large flat screen television, character vaulted ceiling and panoramic windows providing views across the garden and valley beyond.
A door leads from the sitting room into a sun room, which houses a wonderful sauna as well as the equipment that’s required for the garden and swimming pool. A perfect place to leave coats, flip flops or wellies. On one side a doorway leads into a downstairs separate shower room with steam shower, WC and basin. The French windows from the sun room lead directly onto the patio, with large swimming pool heated via solar panels. The patio also leads round to a large private hot tub, garden chairs and loungers.
A small gate from the patio leads into a garden where fish like to swim in the character ponds with rockery and plants. A large wooden table and chairs, parasol and BBQ sit alongside the ponds and are available to share with the owners next door.
To access the bedrooms, an inner hallway leads from the kitchen and provides a carpeted staircase which leads to the first floor with three separate bedrooms. Two double bedrooms with en-suite bathroom with miniature hip-bath, shower over, WC and basin. One twin bedroom with additional single captain’s bed with pull out bed beneath.
Locally there are many excellent walks, fishing, golf and pony trekking available, and a network of graded cycle trails through the ancient Cardinham Woods close by, as featured on BBC Countryfile. The old county town of Bodmin with a selection of shops, pubs, leisure centre, golf club and Steam Railway is about a 20 minute drive as is Lanhydrock House and Gardens. The village of Blisland, 5 miles, has a local store/P.O. and traditional pub facing the village.
The beautiful beaches and fishing villages of the north and south coasts are within a 40 minute drive and there are many glorious gardens and visitor attractions such as the Eden Project within easy reach. Water sports and fishing are available at Siblyback Lake nearby.
