Accommodation overview: With panoramic views of Fowey Harbour from the first floor, this traditional Victorian mid terrace cottage stands in an elevated position above the unspoilt fishing village of Polruan with the quayside just a five minute walk down the steep hill. Ideal for family holidays, the cottage is decorated and comfortably furnished in keeping with its period and is approached by a pedestrian lane set just below the main village car park.
Fronted by a good sized garden, the cottage is entered by a gated path with a couple of steps leading up to the front door which opens into a small entrance lobby with coat pegs. To one side there is a warm and cosy beamed sitting room with lounge seating arranged before the exposed Cornish stone chimney breast and on the opposite side is a pleasant dining room with rocking chairs next to the hearth; both rooms with cushioned window seats overlooking the front lawn.
In an extension at the rear, one step leads up to a newly fitted kitchen and a further step continues up to a ground floor bathroom W.C. with hand basin and shower over the bath and a back door opening out to a service courtyard.
A carpeted staircase leads directly up in one corner of the dining room to the first floor landing where there are two double rooms and a single bedroom at the front of the cottage all enjoying stunning views of the River Fowey and upstream to Bodinnick. One step at the rear continues up to a fourth bedroom with two single beds and a bathroom W.C. with hand basin and shower over the bath.There are electric convector heaters in all bedrooms.
The lawn to the front of the cottage is gated and enclosed by a low boundary hedge, and although there is no parking on site, the pay and display village car park and children's playground are just a 2 minute walk up the hill. There are two pubs, a cafe, village store and post office adjacent to the quayside approximately 500 yards downhill. From here, a regular passenger ferry operates to Fowey where there is a good selection of shops, pubs and restaurants, boat trips departing from the town quay and a beach at Readymoney Cove.
There are beautiful coastal and creekside walks in the immediate vicinity including the Hall Walk and Pencarrow Head and the nearest beaches are Lantic Bay and Lansallos about a 10 minute drive. Polperro is 5.5 miles and Looe just a little further.

Accommodation overview: Rosehill Cottage is perfectly situated within the small picturesque village of St Breward, and is nestled away with a large garden and views across the valley. The property which is full of character features and dates back to the 18th century but was recently renovated to provide a wonderful home for a family or couples alike. Rosehill Cottage is a tranquil retreat for guests wishing to escape from it all, yet provides easy access to many magnificent beaches on the North Cornish Coast, as well as the popular fishing towns of Padstow and Port Isaac which is famously known for the Doc Martin series.
With parking for 3 cars outside the property, Rosehill Cottage is accessed via a few small steps and leads straight into a traditional dining room with wood burning stove and original tiled flooring. To one side, a doorway leads into a cosy lounge which provides an open fireplace, television and views across the garden. Straight through from the dining room, a well-equipped galley style kitchen is to the left which also provides a stable door with access straight back into the garden. On the other side of the hallway, the sole bathroom with shower over, WC, basin and traditional tiled flooring is based on the ground floor adjacent to the kitchen and sits at the bottom of the wooden staircase that leads up to the first floor landing.
On the first floor there are two double bedrooms both with standard sized double beds, plus two additional spacious single bedrooms which sit either side of the upstairs landing. To the front of the property there is a large stone driveway which can park up to three cars. The generous sized garden with garden furniture provides views across the valley.
The moorland village of St Breward is the highest and largest on Bodmin Moor. The village provides its own Post Office, village store and The Old Inn pub with restaurant (dating back to the 11th century). The Camel Trail is also very popular with cyclists and easily accessible from the property. A 10 mile drive will take you to the popular fishing villages on the north coast such as Trebarwith, Port Isaac and Polzeath and the larger towns of Bodmin, Wadebridge and Camelford are all within a 10 mile radius.

Accommodation overview: Less than a 10 minute drive from the beautiful sandy bays and surfing beaches of Bude and Widemouth Bay, this charming 18th century mid-terrace cob cottage stands to one side of the country lane on the outskirts of the peaceful village of Marhamchurch.
The cottage is perfect for families to enjoy a traditional beach holiday nearby and is also an excellent base for walkers and bird watchers, being within easy reach of the South West Coastal Path, Bude Marshes Nature Reserve and picturesque Bude Canal less than 3 miles away.
Approached through a walled and gated patio garden, the front door set beneath an open porch roof leads into a central hallway with the original slate flagstones and the warm and cosy accommodation which retains much of its character with slightly sloping walls and floors. On one side is a beamed sitting room with comfortable lounge seating arranged before the inglenook fireplace, and on the other side is a pine fitted kitchen/dining room with a farmhouse table and the original cloam oven in the hearth. Both rooms overlook the south facing front patio.
A carpeted staircase leads up from the hall to the first floor landing and two pleasant bedrooms with a kingsize and twin beds respectively, each with its own hand basin and lovely rural views, and an adjacent cot/play room. Two steps continue up from the landing to the rear of the cottage where there are a shower room with hand basin, a separate W.C., and a further double bedroom with hand basin and views of the surrounding countryside and the owners working farm. The additional bed spaces offer a variation for the numbers accommodated.
At the front of the cottage is an enclosed slate paved patio that provides a real sun trap and there is private off road parking for up to 3 cars in a lay-by opposite. The owner lives in a self contained annexe to the rear of the original cottage. Bude, 2.5 miles by road, has a wide selection of shops, pubs, restaurants, leisure centre and bowling alley.
It is possible to walk or cycle along the scenic canal footpath passing through farmland to Bude, and there are numerous opportunities for water sports, coarse fishing, golf and horse riding available locally. The picturesque villages of Boscastle, Tintagel and Clovelly are all within half an hour’s drive.
