Accommodation overview: Dont be fooled by the rather plain exterior of this traditional mid terraced cottage, built in the 1700s as awaiting your arrival behind the front door lies a beautiful, boutique style self catering home from home, the perfect venue for your holiday in the Lakes. A hop, skip and jump from the village, with two excellent village pubs on your doorstep. Mr Harvisons, named after a much loved and respected local, is ideally placed for enjoying all that cosmopolitan Ambleside has to offer whether you are walkers, shoppers or foodies - the village has it all. And after a fun filled day on the fells or by the waters edge, return to the contemporary luxury of Mr Harvisons with comfortable lounge areas, sumptuous bedrooms ensuring a good nights rest and individually chosen, interesting pieces of artwork and accessories. The open plan living area is ideal for a casual and social dinner although with so many great places to eat in Ambleside, Lucys, The Glass House and The Log House to name but three, we wonder whether the super facilities on offer here will actually be used to their full advantage? A small terrace to the rear of the cottage is just the spot for an aperitif before dinner or for taking in a breath of fresh Lakeland air when our weather will allow whilst cooler evenings will no doubt be spent gathered around the wood burning stove either in the elegant lounge or cosy snug, recalling the days events and planning the next.

Accommodation overview: Recently refurbished to a very high standard, Hollies Cottage nestles in the heart of the moorland high above Stanbury commanding excellent views over open countryside from the paved patio to the front. The cottage is situated on a circular footpath walk spanning 4.5 miles which leads to Top Withens, believed to be the setting for Emily Brontes Wuthering Heights.

Accommodation overview: A mere 2 miles from Coniston, Torver is a peaceful hamlet with east access to some of the best mountain bike routes, water borne activities and walking in the National Park. Low level walks toward Walna Scar and in to the village itself are ideal for first time visitors and, for the more experienced, Coniston Old Man must not be missed. Torver has two excellent hostelries offering speciality ales and excellent food, Wilsons Arms and The Church House, with further good pubs and everyday shops in nearby Coniston.

Accommodation overview: Croft Cottage is located in the heart of Braithwaite village, which lies at the foot of Grisedale Pike and Whinlatter Pass. The cottage which dates back to 1868 was formerly a barn which has been converted into two dwellings and has been fully modernised and refurbished to the same high standard as the owners other properties, Millerdale and Kiln How in Threlkeld. The village boasts a shop, 2 pubs serving bar meals and a restaurant all within walking distance and all accept pets. Keswick is only 2 miles away where you will find an abundance of amenities and visitor attractions. You can walk from the door in Braithwaite and there are some of the best mountain bike tracks in Whinlatter forest. There are fell views from the bedroom windows. Outside the cottage is an unloading area, ample on street parking and a gravelled garden with seating area.

Accommodation overview: Bluebird Cottage sits proudly above Coniston Village and enjoys superb views of the Lake and surrounding fell ranges, sufficient to tempt the most novice of walkers. The village has a good number of amenities for the self caterer although all the local pubs offer bar food during the day and into the evening. Bluebird Cottage was a former quarry workers cottage and has recently undergone a major refurbishment throughout to create an open plan layout, beautifully furnished with stylish new kitchen, bathroom and living space. The two parking spaces to the side of the cottage are a huge advantage and the sitting out area to the front, with lake views, is sure to be well utilised when our typical Lakeland weather will allow!

The Beeches is an ideal base for walking or cycling, with many routes accessable from the doorstep, or if you prefer, very comfortable for having a relaxing holiday in the lakes.
