Accommodation overview: This spacious flint cottage has been recently restored and refurbished with period furnishings. Situated in the centre of this pretty village it has a large rear garden which is children and pet friendly. Hempstead is a small, sleepy and pretty village just two miles from the picturesque Georgian market town of Holt with its selection of galleries, restaurants and independent shops. Surrounded by the rolling countryside of the Holt ridge, it is an ideal place to explore and is great for cycling, walking, bird watching, golf, sailing and fishing. The coast is only five miles away and the choice is quite diverse from the sandy beaches of Cromer and Sheringham, both Blue Flag, to the shingle of Salthouse and the marshes of Blakeney and Cley. The ruins of Baconsthorpe Castle can be found in the adjoining village; alternatively you could walk to Selbrigg Lake where the River Glaven rises. Matt shall lies in the very heart of Norfolk, central to many of the county's attractions. There are a number of footpaths in the area with both fishing and golf available within four miles of the village. The market town of Dereham is five miles away and offers a good range of shops, restaurants and pubs as well as having a cinema and a sports centre. Matt shall itself has village shops and a pub, with a restaurant in Yaxham one and a half miles away. Wayfarers Cottage is a very pleasant converted stable, which retains many original features. It is located next to a small wooded area on the owner's working farm, with access on request to their one acre attractive garden, which is home to waterfowl and free-roaming peafowl. It provides very comfortable, attractively furnished accommodation, which is all on one level, making it suitable for the less able.
