Accommodation overview: Grange-Over-Sands and surrounding districts are a delightful area of the South Lakes, offering an interesting selection of historic seaside resorts and quaint rural villages. Grange is an elegant town, with a long, sweeping promenade fronting the Bay, lined with antique and collectors shops and cafes. Cartmel famous for its Priory and race meetings is well worth a visit, if only to sample the local sticky toffee pudding. Allithwaite is a short drive from both Grange and Cartmel and is only about 7 miles from the southern tip of Lake Windermere with easy access to the higher fells. Fairview, an end terrace cottage, has been completely renovated to provide exceptional levels of comfort. The accommodation is set out over three floors. The enclosed garden is reached from the lower ground floor, just the spot to enjoy eating al fresco in the warm summer months.

Accommodation overview: This delightful 4 Star rated, stone built cottage enjoys a tranquil rural setting, mid way between Cockermouth and Loweswater in the Western Lakes. It sits on the banks of Sandy Beck, a haven for wildlife and birdlife, including deer, red squirrels and kingfishers. The Smithy was converted from the former Blacksmiths forge by the owners in 2008. They retained the character, with vaulted ceilings and wooden beams and complemented it with the use of high quality furnishings throughout. Lorton, Crummock Water and Buttermere are nearby, with spectacular walks on the surrounding fells. The nearest pub serving bar meals is 2 miles and a wealth of amenities are available in the vibrant market town of Cockermouth, 4 miles. The accommodation is all on ground floor, which may be helpful for people with mobility problems.

Newly built in 2004 and designed with a cottage style in mind, The Spinney is luxuriously furnished and equipped with a Four Poster bed and cosy open fire giving a romantic air to the accommodation. Situated in the village of Lamplugh in a wonderful rural location 6 miles south of Cockermouth, it is close to Loweswater, Ennerdale Water and Crummock Water. This peaceful non-commercialised area of the Lake District is the perfect setting for a romantic break. Fishing is available locally at Cogra Moss, which is within walking distance and there are many other beautiful walks locally. The Coast to Coast cycle route goes past the front door and the award winning Kirkstile Inn is close by for bar meals. Cockermouth is well worth a visit, with shops, restaurants, Brewery Tours and the Lakeland Sheep and Wool centre to name a few of the attractions. Trotters Animal World is a mere 20 minute drive and the seaside town of St Bees is a similar distance.

We marketed it for many years as a 3 bedroom property, until 2011/12 when the owner made several alterations and improvements and relaunched it as a fabulous 4 bedroom, 4 bathroom property, suitable for 2 families or several couples. This 1830s stone barn was converted by the owner into luxury accommodation retaining many original features, including exposed stone walls and beamed ceilings and complemented with luxurious furnishings and exceptional facilities. All principal rooms have double or triple aspect with views to the Lakeland fells, Solway and the Scottish lowlands. It is situated in the historic hamlet of Bridekirk, just outside the Gem town of Cockermouth, which has a wide range of individual shops, restaurants, pubs, a major supermarket and visitor attractions. Accommodation overview: Row Moor Farm is situated close to both Cockermouth and Maryport, between the Lake District Fells and the Solway Coast. Each of which are within a few minutes drive. You may enjoy gentle walks along the beach or choose more strenuous mountain walks. Cockermouth is famous as the birth place for William Wordsworth but has many other attractions, including The Sheep and Wool Centre, numerous art galleries, the Kirkgate Arts Centre and a good selection of Restaurants, Shops and Pubs. At Maryport there is the Harbour, Maritime museum and Aquarium of the Lakes. The border City of Carlisle is within 30 minutes drive. Barn Cottage and Loft Cottage are adjoining each other on a working farm, next to the owners house.They may be let separately or together for up to 11 people.
