Accommodation overview: High Stile is a beautiful end of terrace cottage nestling directly at the foot of Honister Pass, overlooking Hause Ghyll at Seatoller, in the spectacular Borrowdale valley. This 4 bedroom cottage was extended, modernised and completely refurbished in 2008 by the owners, and now provides first class self catering accomodation in perfect surroundings. The many fells surrounding the valley include Scafell Pike and Haystacks and 2 beautiful lakes, Derwentwater and Buttermere are each within a few minutes drive. Rosthwaite is 1 1/2 miles, with a pub and village store and a wealth of amenities are available in Keswick, 8 miles away. There is a regular bus service between Seatoller and Keswick.

Accommodating six people, the cottage is bursting with character - exposed beams, log burning stove (starter pack of logs provided!), internal exposed stone walls and views to die for! Roof Stones has an adjoining cottage (Ground Stones 218014) that sleeps eight - perfect for larger families, offering privacy with en suite facilities to the master rooms. They can be booked together to accommodate 14 guests. Each cottage overlooks a private rock garden with the facility of a fully enclosed south facing garden, complete with fruit trees, barbecue and a charming arbour bench! It has separate private front and rear gardens, parking and entranceway. Recently restored, it retains its period features such as stone mullion windows and an inglenook fireplace.
The private garden has a sandstone patio and built-in barbecue. There is a connecting passage between Melmerby Hall and Stag Cottage and lockable soundproof doors to respect guest privacy.
Guests have access to a free swimming voucher programme with the Tower House indoor pool in the village of Melmerby which is a short walk from the property.
